Flats!

I don't use flats much but I do like having them in my stash. Every once in a while I  get into a flat mood. They wash up so easily and are very very cheap!  So I keep them!  I use the origami fold. Here is a great how-to video (not made by me)....

I use a small prefold as a doubler. This is folded up inside the flat.

And these aren't waterproof so they require a cover. So here it is topped off with a wool cover..

They are kinda fun to fold! If you go to youtube and do a search for "folding a flat diaper" you will find lots of different ways to fold these!

Weehuggers review!!

Got my Weehuggers in the mail today! They are so nice. My first thought was that the PUL is super sturdy. Not as flimsy as a thirsties diaper. This diaper at first look really seems like it could last through potty training and through multiple children.

Weehuggers come in two sizes. Size 1 will fit a baby from 6-18 lbs and size 2 will fit a baby from size 15 - 35lbs. With the dual size they are able to fit a smaller baby when compared to a true one size diaper which really don't start to fit newborns until they are around 10lbs.

They also come in a choice of snaps or aplix. The diaper that I got for Ben is a size 2, snaps. Ben is 9 months old and weighs 25lbs.

You can also purchase specific WeeHuggers bamboo inserts that seem to be really nice! However we are using an indian prefold in infant size.

These seem to be a nice mix of a Thirsties Duo Wrap and a Flip. They have flaps on the inside to hold the insert of your choice in place, like a flip. They have double gussets like a duo.

Inside of a Weehuggers: I have it snapped to the smallest size

I trifolded a prefold horizontally:

And put it in the diaper:

This diaper has a great fit Ben! I love that PUL is not touching the baby's skin. The flaps on the inside are made of bamboo fleece and it is very soft. The snaps seem to very high quality!

Ben wore this diaper for 3.5 hours through a nap. No leaks! When I changed him the flaps weren't wet at all. I just put in a new prefold! Very easy and economical!
